Charles Henry Moore, Sr., 75 of Lake Dallas TX, died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Denton Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness. He was born on March 17, 1930, in Memphis to James and Julia Brim Moore. He grew up in Brownfield and later graduated from Denton Lab High School. He married Velta Mae Stevens on August 28, 1950, in Lovington, NM. He was a retired construction contractor. He was an avid fisherman and taught his children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren to fish. He also enjoyed sharing his garden with friends and relatives. 

He is preceded in death by one sister Anna M. Smith late husband Donald and two brothers Issac James and James Herman, wife Mildred Stetson Moore. 

Visitation will be Friday, February 24, from 7:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 2:00PM at the chapel of Denton Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Patrick will officiate. Burial will follow at Swisher Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott Moore, Keith Moore, Jason Moore, Michael Moore, Jeff Moore and Zac Moore. 

He is survived by his wife, Velta Mae of Lake Dallas, one son, Charles H. Moore, Jr. and wife Kay Buchanan Moore of Hickory Creek, three daughters, Brenda J. Moore Hart of Shady Shores, Valerie Cohen and husband Joe of Denver, CO., and Connie Moore of Lewisville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brian Scott Moore and wife Tina Rutherford Moore of Shady Shores, Keith Ashley Moore of Hickory Creek, Jason Neil Moore of Shady Shores, Charlene Renee Cohen of Miami, FL, and Michael James Hart of Shady Shores and one great-grandchild, Bryson Cole Moore of Shady Shores. As well as one brother Joe Brim and wife Maxine Beadles Moore of Denton, four sisters, Thelma Jean Tankersley late husband Elvis (Jiggs) of Dallas, Neva J. Kissinger late husband Horace of Mc Allen, Stella Sue Yandell and husband Wade of Wichita Falls, and Theta (Katie) Karen Cox and husband Ellis of San Angelo. He is also survived by seventeen nephews and nine nieces.
