Jose Roberto Mesquias

Services for Jose Roberto Mesquias, Sr., 72, of Brownfield were held Friday,
Aug. 16,
at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham
officiating.
Rosaries were prayed Tuesday and Wednesday at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel.
Interment was in the Brownfield Cemetery.
He died Sunday, Aug 13, 2006 in Lubbock. Mesquias was born on Dec.
1, 1933
to Jose and Virginia Mesquias in Robstown. He was a Catholic and was
a member
of the Crusillista at St. Anthony's. He had lived in Lubbock since 1991.
He is survived by two sons - Pedro of Brownfield and George of Levelland; and
five daughters: Lupe Martinez, Esperanza Torres, and Irmalinda Mesquias,
of Brownfield, Cecilia Salazar of Levelland and Virginia Mendoza of Ft.
Stockton.
He is also survived by three brothers---George, Miguel and Johnny
all of San Antonio and six sisters: Maria Armenta of Corpus Christi,
Olivia Casias, Hortensia Gonzales, Francisca Davila and Maria Luisa Elizardo
all of San Antonio and Corinne Higginbotham of Longview.
He also left 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his
parents
and two sons, Jose Roberto Jr. and Jesus.
