91, of Brownfield was called home on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in
Brownfield. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Bethel
Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Matlock and Rev. Travis Curry
officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under
the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Mildred was born on May 3, 1917, in Crosby County to Walt and Flossie Edwards. She married Bob Meek on Dec. 23, 1933, in Crosbyton. They moved to Brownfield in 1948. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Janiece Proctor in 1982 and her granddaughter, Lynette Benton in 2003. Mildred worked at Brownfield Regional Medical Center as a nurse's aid for more than 30 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Novis Ratliff of Lubbock; her sister, Charlotte Kirk of Crosbyton; four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
