services for Betty Ann McClure, 75, of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m.
Monday, April 11, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve
Carter officiating. Services are under the direction of Brownfield
Funeral Home. Betty was born November 26, 1935, in Magnolia, Arkansas, to Audis and Zuma Awbrey. Betty grew up in Magnolia and graduated from Magnolia High School. She then attended the University of Arkansas in Magnolia. Betty married the love of her life, James Allan McClure, on May 27, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2005. She and her husband lived in Dimmitt for 25 years before moving to Brownfield. They were members of the Dimmitt Country Club and avid golfers. Betty was a member of the "Dimmitt Darlings" golf association. She was an employee of the City of Dimmitt until retiring in 2003. She had her "Bridge Buddies" and Senior Citizens Clubs. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Betty is survived by three children, Allan McClure and wife Janie of Brownfield, Howie McClure of Abilene and Christy McGee and husband Max of Lubbock; grandchildren, Leath and Erin McClure of Lubbock, Ryan and Amber Moore of Portland, Matt and Kaleigh McClure of Lubbock, Jossalyn and Derrick McDaniel of Oklahoma City, Jacqualine McClure of Springhill, La., Bob McClure of Shongaloo, La.; seven great grandchildren, Carter Moore, Addison McClure, Zade McClure, Maycen McClure, Jaycee Kilgore, Kayden McDaniel and Kara McDaniel; a brother, Johnny Awbrey and wife Diane of Orlando, Fla.; and a sister, Cortez Nicholas of Austin.
