Martinez, Jr., 25, of Brownfield went to be with the Lord on Monday,
July 20, 2009 in Brownfield. Services were held at
10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, at United in Christ New Vision Center
Church, 210 W. Reppto St., with Rev. Mike Moreno officiating. Burial
will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of
Brownfield Funeral Home. Pete was born on June 8, 1984, in Brownfield to Pete Anthony Martinez and Nora Guzman Rodriguez. He attended schools in Brownfield. He had recently been speaking as a motivational speaker for PlainTalk, having a positive influence on many people because of the changes he had made in his own life. Pete is survived by his parents, Nora Rodriguez and Pete Martinez, Sr. of Brownfield; his brother, Labon Bean Phergson of Brownfield; two sisters, Libbyon Bean Phergson and Andrea Nora Guzman of Brownfield and his grandfather, Rodolfo Guzman of Brownfield and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marcario and Paula Martinez, Sr. and his paternal great grandparents, Pedro and Juanita Pina, his uncle, Albert Martinez, his maternal grandmother, Antonia Torres Guzman, his uncle, Guadalupe Guzman and his aunt, Antonia Guzman.
