Pete R. Marroquin, age 77 of Brownfield, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007, in Lubbock.

There will be a prayer service held Thursday and Friday evenings, September 6 and 7th at the New Jerusalem Church in Brownfield. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 8, 2007, 2:00 P.M. at the New Jerusalem Church with Pastor Frank Balderez officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownfield Cemetery.

Mr. Marroquin was born on September 20, 1929, to Alfredo L. and Manuela Marroquin in Floresville, Texas. He lived there until 1972 when he moved to Brownfield.

On September 29, 1972, he married Angelita Garcia in Brownfield. He was a Baptist and was a member of the New Jerusalem Church. He worked as a farmer and Gin Worker. He was employed by Pendergrass Gin in Wellman until 1979 when he retired.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Angelita, of the home, 3 sons: Pete, Jr., Adolfo and Amador, all of Brownfield. 2 daughters: Gloria M. Leal of Donalsonville, Georgia and Adelmira M. Ramirez of Brownfield. 1 Sister: Soyla Vasquez of Wellman. He also left 27 Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Brothers: Alfredo, Joe and Amos and 3 Sisters: Lydia Servantez, Maria Martinez and Josefina Flores.
