| Visitation for
Mr. Marroquin was held Tuesday, July 24, 2012, and Wednesday July
25, 2012, with a prayer service following. Funeral service
will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Templo Betel in Brownfield
with Pastor Santos Gamez officiating. Burial will follow at
Brownfield Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Mark A. Jones Funeral
Directors of Brownfield. Mr. Marroquin was born on May 16, 1957, to Pedro and Margarita Marroquin Sr. in Floresville. He married the love of his life, Julia Alvarado, on July 15, 1978, in Brownfield. Pedro loved watching sports, collecting Dallas Cowboys memorabilia and rebuilding cars. He enjoyed joking around with people and making them laugh. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and a good friend. He was a hard worker and was always there for everyone. Pedro was known to everyone as "Papi." Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Julia, of 34 years, of the home; two sons, Pete "Pingo" Marroquin III and wife Vicki and Izaiah "Buddy" Marroquin both of Brownfield; two daughters, Melinda Marroquin and Nakita Silva and husband Roman, both of Brownfield; two brothers, Amador Marroquin of Lamesa and Adolfo Marroquin of Lubbock; two sisters, Gloria Leal and husband Daniel of Donalsonville, Ga., and Adelmira Ramirez and husband Jorge of Brownfield. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ruben, Robert and Tony Marroquin; father-in-law, Rudy Alvarado Sr.; mother-in-law, Dominga Garcia and several aunts and uncles. |
