                                Funeral Services for Ubaldo Mares, 78, of Brownfield were held Friday,
                                November 18, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham
                                officiating.   Burial was in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of
                                Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.

                                Mr. Mares died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, in University Medical Center in
                                Lubbock.   He moved from Plainview to Brownfield in 1986 and had been
                                employed by Xcel Meat Packing as a butcher.

                                Mr. Mares is survived by his wife, Lucille Vidales; 5 sons: Ubaldo, Jr. of
                                Houston, Jose of Lansing, Mich., and Oscar, Francisco and Richard, all of
                                Holland, Mich., and 3 stepsons:  Pete and Joe Vidales, both of Brownfield,
                                and Juan Vidales of Lubbock.    He is also survived by 3 daughters:  Angelica
                                Gayton, Martha Penaloza and Hilda Castellanos, of Holland, Mich., and 
                                7 step-daughters:  Erminia Contreras, Gloria Grimaldo, Josie Dias, Corina
                                Sepeda and Maggie Vidales, all of Lubbock, Lucy Constante of Dallas, and
                                Adelida Acevedo of Round Rock, Mich.     

                                He is also survived by 2 brothers:  Juan of Monterrey, Mexico, and Jessie of Itasca, 
                                and 3 sisters:  Maria and Ma. Jorgelina Mares, both of Maquelles, Tam., Mexico,
                                and Rosa Mares of Alice.   Mr. Mares is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 18
                                great-grandchildren, 60 step-grandchildren, 119 step great-grandchildren and
                                20 step-great-great-grandchildren.
