Robert Luker, 94, of San Angelo and formerly of Brownfield, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in San Angelo.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Ashmore Baptist Church in the Loop community with Rev. Charles Burdett and Rev. Anthony Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Robert was born on July 23, 1914, in Comanche County to G.W. and Mary Elizabeth Luker.  He moved to the Union community in 1920 with his family where he graduated from high school in 1932.  He worked as a farmer until his retirement in 1990.

He married Louise Chambers on May 10, 1938, in Lovington, N.M. She preceded him in death in January of 1992.  He then married Wanda Anglin in November of 1992. Robert served on the Soil Conservation Board, Union School Board, the Windham Gin Board, and was a member of Ashmore Baptist Church.

Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda Luker of San Angelo and her children; his son, Charles Luker and his wife Beth of San Angelo; his daughter, Melba Sanders and her husband Thomas of Arlington; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
