Raleigh "Squirt" Luker, 91, of Brownfield were held Saturday, Oct.
25, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter
officiating. Internment followed at the Terry County
Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
"Squirt" was born on Sept. 30, 1917, in Comanche County to G. W. and Mary Elizabeth Luker. He graduated from Brownfield High School. He was a lifelong resident of Terry County where he farmed in the Union community until his retirement in 1979. Raleigh married Evalyn Evans on April 15, 1950, in Brownfield. She preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 1967. He then married Mary Bell Murphy on Jan. 9, 1975, in Brownfield. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. "Squirt" is survived by his wife, Mary Bell Luker of Brownfield; his son, Ronald Luker and his wife Margaret of Brownfield; his daughter, Mary Alice Nance and husband Don of Graham; his daughter, Leigh Szydloski and her husband Collier of Lone Star, Texas; his son, Kenneth Murphy and his wife Maurine of Horseshoe Bay; his daughter, Linda Warren and her husband Gale of Stephenville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert "Bob" Luker and his wife Wanda of San Angelo.
