Obituary for Mary Bell Murphy Luker

Graveside services for Mary Bell Luker, 92, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Services are under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Friday at the Funeral Home.

Mary passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, in Stephenville. She was born March 24, 1918, in Kiowa, Oklahoma and attended schools in Wellman. She married Taft Murphy on September 12, 1934 in O'Donnell. They moved to Brownfield in 1940. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1972. She then married Raleigh "Squirt" Luker on January 9, 1975, in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2008. Mary is also preceded in death by 7 siblings. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth Murphy and wife Maurine of Horseshoe Bay and Ronald Luker and wife Margaret of Brownfield;
3 daughters, Linda Warren and husband Gale of Stephenville, Mary Alice Nance and husband Don of Graham and Leigh Szydloski and husband Collier of Lone Star; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Brown of Lubbock; a brother, Billy Jones of Brownfield.
