Longoria, age 75, passed from this life on Saturday, June 19, 2010,
in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday,
June 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Mark A Jones Memorial Chapel in
Brownfield with Rev. Mike Moreno officiating. Burial will follow in
Meadow Cemetery. Personal services are under the direction of
Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield. Sammie was born February 2, 1935, to Pete and Janie Longoria in Charlotte, Texas. He lived in Brownfield for 10 years and then moved to Lubbock in 2007. He married Beatriz Soto in 1961. Mr. Longoria is remembered as a loving father and grandfather who would do whatever was needed to provide for his family. He loved watching westerns and wrestling. No matter what life threw his way he always made the best out of it. Those left to cherish his memories are his son: Steven Longoria of Ropesville; four daughters: Betty Rodriguez of Brownfield, Aurora Rocha, Debbie Juarez and husband Isaiah and April Longoria all of Lubbock; two brothers: Leon and Martin Longoria of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary Macias and Aurora Longoria of San Antonio. He also leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and 3 great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beatriz in 2002, 8 brothers and 1 sister. Brownfield News |
