2006, at Brownfield Church
Of Christ with Bob Reynolds
officiating. Interment was
in Terry Co. Memorial
Cemetery under the direction
of Brownfield Funeral Home.
He passed away Thursday,
October 19, 2006, in
Lubbock.
He was born August 10, 1921,
in Comanche, Texas to Daniel
and Bessie Lewis. He
graduated from Union High
School in 1938. He married
Betty Carter Auburg, Feb. 1,
1958, in Brownfield and
farmed in Terry County,
retiring in 1972. Darrell
had served on the board for
West Gin. He was a US Army
Veteran serving in WWII. He
was a member of Brownfield
Church Of Christ. He is
preceded in death by a son
Danny, three sisters and a
brother. Pallbearers were
friends and grandsons.
He is survived by his wife,
Betty, of Brownfield; a son,
David Auburg and his wife,
Janice of Brownfield; a
daughter, Jeanann Forbes of
Brownfield; 2 brothers,
Bobby Don Lewis of Odessa
and Wayne Lewis of Austin; 2
sisters, Joyce Roe of
Brownfield and Eddie Barnard
of Bakersfield, CA; 6
grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren.
