Nieto Leon, 76, of Brownfield, died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at
University Medical Center in Lubbock. A Rosary was prayed Friday, Oct. 19, at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel in Brownfield. The funeral mass was held Sat., Oct. 19, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial was in the Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Leon was born on May 17, 1931, in Hudsonville to Demetrio and Maria Leon. He moved from San Angelo to Brownfield in 1948. On Nov. 2, 1948, he married Maria Panfilia Grimaldo in Brownfield. He was a Catholic. He is survived by his wife--Maria Panfilia Leon of the home; three sons--Manuel of Danville, Penn., Frank of Midland and Jessie Torres of Lubbock and two daughters--Elisa Torres of Lubbock and Fran Garibaldo of Brownfield. Mr. Leon is also survived by two sisters--Lola Castillo of Lubbock and Lupe Leon of San Angelo. He also leaves 39 grandchildren and 95 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one daughter--Gloria Avalos in 1990; three sons--Arturo Deleon in 2000, Frutoso Felan in 2002 and Alex Deleon in 2006. Brownfield News |
