Leija, 69, of Brownfield passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
Services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at the St.
Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.
Rosary services were at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the
Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Daniel was born January 23, 1938, to Jose Sr. and his wife Inez in Crowell, Texas. He moved to Brownfield in 1957 with his family. He married Lydia Gonzales on June 10, 1966, in Gering, Nebraska. He retired from J and J Packers in Denver City, Texas. He is survived by his wife Lydia Leija of Brownfield, three sons; Steve Leija of Dallas, David Leija and his wife Juana of Richardson, and Ruben Leija of Richardson, two daughters; Rosa Reynero and her husband Wally of Brownfield, and Rachel Leija of Richardson, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, 3 Brothers; Jose Leija Jr. of Denver City, Juan Leija of Brownfield and Lorenzo Leija of Paris, Texas, and four Sisters; Maria Valencia of Munday, Rosa Leija of Paris, Texas, Paula Aragon of Paris, Texas and Irene Aragon of Paris, Texas.
