Memorial services for Billy Ray Laxton, 67, of
Brownfield were at 2 p.m., Saturday,
June 24, 2006, at the Challis Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Branch
officiating.
Under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Laxton passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Lubbock. He was born
January 25, 1939, to Hazel and W. D. Laxton and married his true love on
January 25, 1956. He served in the Air Force as Airman II for
4 years and
then spent the remainder of his life being a devoted husband and father as well
as
working in the oilfield.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Lois Laxton; one son, Billy Ray Laxton,
Jr.,
and his wife, JoAnna, of Belton; one daughter, Lena Lois Laxton and her partner
Traci Collins, of Austin; four brothers: Jim, Larry, Leon and Richard; two
sisters, Karen and Sharon; two grandsons, John Laxton and Sam Walker of
Belton. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings,
Jerry and
Carol.
