Obituary for Eathel Keith

Eathel Keith, 97, of Brownfield passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Brownfield. Services was at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Curry officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Eathel was born on December 7, 1911, near Elmer, Oklahoma, to John Andrew and Ella Louise Glover. She moved with her parents to Brownfield in 1935 where she attended school. She married Clyde Euell Keith on December 14, 1936, in Brownfield. Eathel worked cooking for the public for 30 years. She cooked for the Co-Op, the Holiday House, the Brownfield School District and the XYZ Club.

Clyde preceded her in death on January 21, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Clyde Keith on June 4, 1976, and her grandchildren, Link Keith and Kelly Vaughn. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Eathel is survived by her daughter, Mary Roberts of Odessa; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
