Bennett Jordan, U S Veteran, aged 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in Brownfield. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Don McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Bennett was born on July 31, 1923, to A. J. and Willie Jordan in Vernon, TX.  He moved to Needmore with his family in 1931 and attended Meadow schools. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in a tank battalion.

On November 22, 1947, he married Sammie Crossland in Tahoka. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2007.  He worked as a farmer for many years and then worked for Mason Oil Co. for 35 years,  retiring in 1987. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and was a member of Brownfield First Christian Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Franklin of Midland; 3 grandchildren, Kimm Duncan, Craig Franklin and Candy Garrett and her husband Greg; and 3 great grandchildren, Justin Garrett, Jacob Garrett and Caleb Franklin.
