LaVada Lee Jones, 88, formerly of Brownfield, will be Friday, Feb.
29, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds
officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield
Cemetery. LaVada died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in Ft. Worth. She was born July 15, 1919, in Medicine Mound to Major Lee and Ida C. Handley and moved with her parents to Meadow in 1923. She attended school in Meadow and Tahoka and graduated from Lubbock High School. She then attended and graduated from Draughans Business College in Dallas. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Brownfield Church of Christ. On Oct 15, 1938, she married Cliff Jones in Paducah. He preceded her in death Nov. 25, 1983. LaVada is also preceded in death by her son--Robert Jones in 1995. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law--Oscar Jones of Stephenville, Kenneth Jones of Granbury, Juanelle McDaniel of Lubbock and Mary Ann Barron of Lamesa and by several nieces and nephews.
