Services for Loyd Berry Irvin, 87, of Midland were held Tuesday,
Nov. 7, in the Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with
Michael Taylor of Wilson officiating. Burial was in Terry County
Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Irvin died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, in a nursing facility in Midland.
He was born Jan. 9, 1919 in Stonewall County to Berry and Mary
Galla Irvin and was married to Junevea Carouth on Dec. 21, 1956.
She preceded him in death in Jan. 2005.
Mr. Irvin had been employed by the Brownfield School District as a
school bus driver and mechanic. He also worked for Terry County.
He was a former member of the Nazarene Church in Brownfield and
was currently a member of the Faith Chapel Evangelical Church in Wilson.
Mr. Irvin is survived by one sister---Hazel Young of Grand Prairie and
several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother:
Royce Irvin, and by his parents.
Pallbearers were Gary Jobe, Bill Lacy, Sheldon Teeter, Barry Young and
Larry Young. Memorials may be made to Hospice/Midland, 911 West
Texas Street, Midland, 79701.
