| David Hernandez,
age 73, passed from this life on Saturday, February 18, 2012, in
Brownfield. Services for Mr. Hernandez will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday,
February 21, 2012, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield
with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will follow in
Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Hernandez was born on May 20, 1938, to Antonio and Rosa Ortiz in Caldwell County Texas. He married Frances Gonzales in 1981 in Levelland. Mr. Hernandez served his country in the Marines. He was very proud that he was able to serve his country. He loved attending family reunions and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed reading the bible and gardening. He was most proud of being raised by his grandparents with strong cultural values. Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife Frances of the home; 2 sons: Carlos Hernandez and wife Angie of Seguin, Texas and David Hernandez and wife Antonia of Brownfield; 2 daughters: Evangelina Gebhart of San Francisco, California and Cathy Alaniz and husband Jose of Lubbock; 3 sisters: Olivia Torrez, Maria Torrez and Rosa Torrez all of McAllen, Texas. He also left behind 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter: Bertha Alicia Leija in 2002. |
