Rose Gene Henson

Services for Rose Gene Henson, 85, of Brownfield were held Tuesday,
Oct. 3, in the Meadow First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken McClung
officiating. Burial was in Meadow Cemetery.
Mrs. Henson died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, in Lubbock. She was born
July 15, 1921, in Post to Walter Ray and Biddie Gandy and she was married
to Hubert Henson on Nov. 30, 1940, in Brownfield. He died on July 15, 1993.
She moved to Tokio with her family in 1929 and attended Pleasant Valley
Schools. She graduated from Brownfield High School in 1939 and
was a
member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henson is survived by one son--Robert and his wife--Henri of Meadow;
one daughter--Tootie Roper of Houston and two brothers---James Gandy of
Palacios and Freddy Gandy of Brownfield.
She is also survived by six grandchildren---Cindy Hogue of Meadow, Jon Henson
of Lubbock, Stacy Henson of Fort Worth, Tracy McBee of Brownfield, Shea
Brewer of Austin and Courtney Noone of Houston, and by eight
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Henson was also preceded in death by two brothers---Robert Bruce and
Walter 'Sonny' Gandy and two sisters--Edna Mae Powers and Billie Ruth
Shewmake. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
