Ellen Heathcoat, 89, of Brownfield will be at 2 pm Saturday, Nov. 1,
at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Curry officiating. Burial
will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of
Brownfield Funeral Home. The family received friends at
the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Friday. Lee Ellen passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Brownfield. She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Bell County to William Henry and Ellen Elvira Flemmons and attended school in Bell Falls. She married Hubert B. Heathcoat in Coryell County, Sept. 21, 1940. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1999. Lee Ellen and her husband farmed in Bell County until moving to Brownfield in 1957. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Lee Ellen is also preceded in death by a son, David Lee Heathcoat, in 1991 and three grandsons, Keith, Kyle and Kevin Aldridge in 1977. She is survived by three sons, H. A. Roy and his wife Ava Loy of Irving, Barney Heathcoat and his wife Linda of Jacksboro and W. J. Heathcoat and his wife Ann of Brownfield; three daughters, Bobbiette Hedrick and her husband Bobby of Brownfield, Virginia Seaton and her husband Olin of Brownfield and Peggy Aldridge and her husband Eddie of Brownfield; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Flemmons of Sun City, Calif., and W. O. Flemmons of Seagraves; and one sister, Gladys Pitts of Moffat.
Pallbearers will be
her grandsons. |
