Lera Pearl Hanson, 91, of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
Jan. 6, 2009, at Shady Oaks Church of God with Rev. Eugene Ballard
officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under
the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Lera passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Brownfield. She was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Madison County to Jesse G. and Winnie H. Stucker. She married Wayne Preston Hanson on March 23, 1938, in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1979. Lera retired from the Brownfield Independant School District. She worked for over 31 years as Cafeteria Manager with the schools. She was a member of Shady Oaks Church of God. Lera is also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Hanson, three brothers and two sisters. Lera is survived by a daughter, Janice Reaves of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hanson of Midland; two brothers, Jesse Stucker of La Marida, Calif., and Luther Stucker of Abilene; a sister, Georgie Robertson of Brownfield; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
