Obituary for Delton Gregg

Services for Delton Gregg, 79, of Brownfield were held
2 p.m., Monday, July 20, at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Bob Reynolds and Rev. Randy Land officiating. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Delton passed away at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2009. He was born on January 14, 1930, to David Edward and Nora Bessie Gregg in Arab, Alabama and moved to Meadow at a young age. He graduated from Meadow High School in 1949.

He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea. Delton married Barbara Grace Green on March 3, 1951, in Brownfield. He was a farmer and received the "Outstanding Young Farmer of Terry County" award. He was County Commissioner for Prec. 3 for 12 years. In 1999 he retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Ulys Gregg; a sister, Grace Carter.

Delton is survived by his wife Barbara of Brownfield; two daughters, Carmin McWilliams and husband Greg of Levelland and Cindy Zimmerman and husband Harry of Lubbock; grandchildren, Dave McWilliams of Leander, Jayne Awbrey and husband Eric of Portland; Michael Zimmerman and wife Renee of Lubbock and Andrea Zimmerman and fiancee Tim Hammer of San Antonio; 1 great-granddaughter, Amber Grace Awbrey of Portland; three sisters, Erma Knight of Meadow, Nadine Cain and husband Maurice of Ropesville and Dorothy Liles of Kress.
