Gonzales, 72, passed away Friday, Feb.13, 2009, in Lubbock. A
memorial service was held Feb. 17 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church
with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Mrs. Gonzales was born March 22, 1936, to Alfredo and Juanita Rodriquez in Brownsville. Juanita attended school in Brownsville and married Eliseo Gonzales, Sr., in 1953. She moved from Brownsville to Brownfield in 1956, where she was a cafeteria cook for the Brownfield ISD. She is survived by three sons, Eliseo Gonzales Jr. and wife Virginia, Gonzalo Gonzales and wife Rosa, both of Brownfield and David Gonzales of Lubbock; two daughters, Angelica Herrera and husband Ray and Sulema Acevedo and husband Oscar, both of Lubbock; five brothers, Alfredo, Emilio, Alonzo, Robert, and Carlos; and three sisters, Minnie, Soyla, and Margaret; She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Eliseo Gonzales in 2004, her parents, three sisters: Elida, Ninfa, and Mary; and two brothers, Arturo and Joe. The Gonzales family would like to give a special thanks to Father Malcolm, Father Kenney, and the staff of UMC for being there in their time of need.
