Gonzales, Jr. age 81 passed from this life on Sunday, January 22,
2012, in Brownfield. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Templo Sinai Church in Brownfield with Rev. Raul Guetierrez officiating. Burial will follow in Brownfield Cemetery. Prayer Services will be Monday and Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Services are being entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield. Mr. Gonzalez was born to Mariano and Canuta Gonzales, Sr. on February 13, 1930, in Westoff, Texas. He married Josephine Luna on July 27, 1964, in Brownfield. She preceded him in death in January of 2006. Mariano was very proud of his children and family. One of the things he enjoyed was attending family reunions. He enjoyed working on cars and was a very good mechanic. The family will remember him for being a hard working man and a simple man. Those left to cherish his memories are: 7 sons: Raul Gonzales and wife Maria of Leakey, TX; Mariano Gonzales III with wife Noemi of Midland, TX, Antonio Gonzales and wife Joann, Abraham Gonzales with wife Cynthia, and Roger Lovington with wife Rachel, all of Brownfield, TX; Samuel Gonzales with wife Laura of Alpine, TX and Benito Gonzales and wife Angela of Abernathy, TX. 1 Daughter: Sylvia Gonzales and husband Joe of Brownfield. 1 Brother: Bacilio Guzman, Jr. of Welch, TX and 4 Sisters: Maria Isaacs and Consuelo Vasquez both of Robstown, TX and Rosa Castillo and Ofelia Acevado both of Brownfield, TX. He also left 28 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. |
