Josephine Gonzales

Josephine Gonzales, 64, of Brownfield, passed away Friday,
January 6, 2006,
at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born December 15,
1941,
to Antonio and Elvira Luna in Weslaco, Texas. She attended schools in
Mathis
and Brownfield.
Josephine married the love of her life, Mr. Mariano Gonzales, Jr., in Brownfield
on July 22, 1964. She was an active member of the Templo Sinai
Asambleas De Dios
and a member of the Ministerio Femeniles ladies ministries. She was
also a
former church secretary.
Her family remembers she felt her greatest accomplishment was making sure all
her children had a good education and attended college. She loved
family get-
togethers and Gospel Music.
Prayer Services were held Sunday and Monday evenings at Templo Sinai.
Funeral Services were held at 10 AM Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at Templo
Sinai with Rev. Raul G. Gutierrez officiating.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Mariano, of the home;
7 sons: Tony Gonzales, Abraham Gonzales and Roger Lovington all of Brownfield,
Mario (Mariano) Gonzales III of Midland, Samuel Gonzales of Voca, TX., and
Benito Gonzales of Abernathy; 1 daughter: Sylvia Gonzales of Brownfield and
17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by 2 brothers: Isreal Luna of Midland and Isaiaias Luna of
Tulare, CA; and 4 sisters: Delfina Chavez, Maria Garza and Arcila Luna all of
Tulare, CA., and Sulema Martinez of Livingston, TX.
Personal Services are being provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of
Brownfield.
