memorial services for Gerald Hampton Goldston, 74, of Brownfield
will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Calvary Baptist
Church with Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Burial will be in Terry
County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral
Home. Gerald passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, in Brownfield. He was born June 23, 1936, in Paducha to Robert Hampton and Myrtle Kincannon Goldston. He graduated from Brownfield High School and was in the Navy Reserves after WWII. He married Theresa Stephens in Brownfield. She now lives in Austin. Gerald then married Patty Sue Durham Rimer on June 5, 1992, in Post. He farmed most of his life and later was a Terry County employee. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carol Dick Goldston; and a sister, Judy Lewis. He is survived by two daughters, Meg Gann of Midland and Dale Hancock of Brownfield; five sons, Vic Goldston of Brownfield, Lyn Goldston and wife Kim of Midland, Dennis Rimer of New Braunfels, Jeff Rimer and wife Dina of Dallas, and Brandon Rimer of Brownfield; Leon Goldston and wife Joyce of Dublin, Donald Goldston and wife Doris of Ft. Worth, Robert Goldston and wife Shirley of Abilene; sisters, Joyce Summers of Tahoka, Lorene "Charlie" Blair and husband Don of O'Donnell; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
