Garza, 93, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, at his residence in
Brownfield. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Mark A. Jones Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Garza was born to Juan and Rita Garza in Karnes City . He enlisted into the army in 1942 and served in WWII. He married Ofelia Huerta on Nov. 14, 1966 in Brownfield. He is survived by his wife Ofelia; two daughters, Delma Lira and husband Louis and Dellia Garza, both of Brownfield; two brothers, Emilio Garza of San Antonio, Ray Garza of Freemont, Calif.; one sister, Alicia Perez of Alice, one niece, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
