Roy R. Garcia, age 57, passed from this life February 20, 2006, in Brownfield,
TX.
Rosaries were prayed on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Mark A. Jones
Memorial Chapel. Services were at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24,
2006, at
St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.
Interment
followed in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral
Directors of Brownfield.
Roy R. Garcia was born in Brownfield on July 4, 1948, to Robert and Magdalena
Garcia. He attended schools in Brownfield and Spur, TX, but lived
most of his life in
the Brownfield area. He was a farmer. In later years, he
enjoyed working with
leather work and woodworking and enjoyed everything in crafts that were a
challenge
to him.
One sister, Victoria Menchaca, preceded him in
death. He is survived by 2 Sons:
Roy Garcia, Jr., and Gavino Garcia, both of Brownfield, TX; 2 Step-sons: Joe
Moreno
and Johnny Moreno, both of Brownfield; 3 Daughters: Isabel Garcia,
Angelita Garcia and
Ester Garcia, all of Brownfield; 5 Step-daughters: Mary Correl of
California; Louisa
Contreras, Oralia Garcia, Tino Moreno and Maria Lorenza Garcia, all of
Brownfield;
3 Brothers: Alex Garcia of Brady, TX; Celestino Garcia of Brownfield and
Robert Garcia
of Lovington, NM; 6 Sisters: Ester Menchaca of Brownfield, TX; Elida Lujan
of
Sweetwater, TX; Irene Sanchez of Graham, TX; Leonora Sanchez of
Oklahoma,
Guadalupe Davila of May, TX., and Delia Constancia of Waco, TX; and 25 Grand-
children and 7 Great-grandchildren.
