Obituary for Rachel Garcia

Rachel Garcia, 72, of Brownfield died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Brownfield Regional Medical Center.    Services were held at Primera Iglesia Bautista on Friday, Dec. 21, with Rev. Donny Carrasco will be officiating.

Mrs. Garcia was born on Dec. 18, 1935, to Juan and Guadalupe Laureles in Corpus Christi. She moved to Brownfield in 1957 from Brady.    On Oct. 27, 1957, she married Plutarco Garcia in Brady.   She was a Baptist and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista where she and her husband pastored.

Her family will remember her as a person who had a strong faith in her Lord. She was always a friend to everyone. Her greatest passion was her flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband--Plutarco of the home, one son--Ismael Garcia and his wife--Susana of Brownfield and one daughter--Ruthy Davis and her husband--James of Lamesa.    Mrs. Garcia is also survived by two sisters--Pauline Galindo of Brady and Florencia Arias of Venango, Neb., and by four grandchildren--Melissa Garcia, Michael Garcia, Elliott Davis and Austin Davis.

Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents.
