Garcia, age 69, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at his
residence in Brownfield. Memorial services for Mr. Garcia were held Thursday, August 5, 2010, 7:00 P.M. at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Brownfield. Funeral services were August 6, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Brownfield with Pastor Plutarco Garcia officiating. Burial followed at Brownfield Cemetery in Brownfield. Joaquin was born June 16, 1941, to Vidal and Antonia Garcia in Brownfield Texas and was a life long resident of that town. Mr. Garcia married Mary Quesada in Brownfield on February 8, 1972. "Kino" ran his own successful roustabout service for 20 years. He recorded some Christian music CD's. He loved playing his guitar and working on cars. His family said he was a jokester and had a great sense of humor, but most of all he liked hanging out with his friends and having coffee. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Mary Garcia of the home; 3 sons: Jocque Garcia and wife Rosalita of Odessa, Gabriel Garcia of Houston and Jeremy Garcia of Dallas; 4 daughters: Janet Johnson and husband Byron of Denton, Texas, Jennifer Baldridge of Alabama and Mary Ann Sansing and Virginia Powell and husband Tony both of Lubbock; 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He also leaves behind 25 Grandchildren and 41 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents Vidal and Antonia Garcia; 1 son: Alex Garcia in 1994; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
