                                    Juanita C. Garcia, 83, of Brownfield, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005,
                                    at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.   She was born September 6, 1922, to
                                    Ermidio and Paubla Carranza in Stephenville, Texas, and was a homemaker
                                    and longtime resident of Terry County.

                                    Juanita Carranza married the love of her life, Cruz Garcia, Sr., in Poth, Texas,
                                    in 1940.   Juanita loved to play the guitar, keyboard and accordion.   She also
                                    loved to crochet and garden and was known for her love and variety of animals
                                    she took in.

                                    A Rosary service was held Monday and Tuesday evenings at Mark A. Jones 
                                    Memorial Chapel.   A Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4,
                                    2006, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.

                                    Those left to cherish her memories include 2 Sons: Santiago Garcia of Seguin, TX,
                                    and Cruz Garcia, Jr., of Lubbock, TX; 4 Daughters:  Delfina Fonseca and Mary
                                    Molina both of Brownfield; Lydia Garcia and Lelia Moreno both of Abilene; 
                                    4 Sisters: Olivia Saenz of Brownfield, Margarita Mendez and Amalia Nino both
                                    of Corpus Christi, and Andrea Herrera of Austin, TX; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-
                                    grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons.

                                    She was preceded in death by her husband Cruz, Sr.; a daughter Elvira Garcia and
                                    3 brothers.
