services for W.A. "Dub" Fulford, 87, formerly of Brownfield will be
held at 1:30pm at First Baptist Chapel on Thursday, March 29, 2012.
Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction
of Brownfield Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-8pm Dub passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, in Lubbock. He was born January 18, 1925, to John and Hattie Lou Fulford in Lynn County and graduated from Tahoka High School in 1942. He attended Texas Tech University and was a WWII US Army Veteran where he served in the Southwest Pacific and received the Purple Heart. Dub married Colene "Cody" Carmack on June 1, 1946, in Brownfield. She preceded him in death in 2008. They moved from Tahoka to Brownfield in 1957. Dub was a ginner
and farmer. He was associational Brotherhood president while in
Tahoka First Baptist Church. In Brownfield, he served on the ASCS
Committee, the Advisory Board of the National Cotton Council and was
a non-industry board member of the American Petroleum Institute. Dub
was a member of the Rotary Club and Brownfield First Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Johnnie
Ellis and Donnie Redwine. |
