Fugitt, 69, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009, in
Lubbock. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on
Monday, August 10, 2009, at First Baptist Church - Ford Chapel, with
Rev. Bobby Dagnel officiating. A private burial will be held in
Meadow Cemetery at a later time. Please join us in celebrating

www.mem.com. George was born on June 25, 1940, in Marlin, to Henry and Allie (Owens) Fugitt. He married Doris Wright on September 8, 1962 in Brownfield. George played football for San Angelo Junior College for two years before graduating from Texas Tech in 1964. He retired from Textron after 35 years of service. After retirement, George spent most of his days at Shadow Hills Golf Course. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Doris Fugitt of Lubbock; a son, Mark Fugitt and wife Janell of Cimarron, Kansas; daughter, Shanna Fugitt of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Justin, Macy and Janae Fugitt of Cimarron, Kan.; mother, Al Bearden of Brownfield; two sisters, Janie Rudisill and husband Wayne of Lake Whitney and Diane Fulford and husband Loyd of Brownfield. He was preceded in death by his father in 1976. Memorials can be made to the George Fugitt Endowment Fund in the Agriculture Department at Texas Tech University or to your favorite charity
