Obituary for Clarene Forbes

Services for Clarene Forbes, 79, of Brownfield were held Saturday, March 3, in the Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jackie C. Gestes, II officiating.    Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Forbes died Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Brownfield.   She was born
June 16, 1927, in Marlow, Okla. to John Melton and Eula Bernard Briscoe.   She moved with her family to Terry County at an early age and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1943.    She was married to Harold Forbes on Nov. 18, 1944, in Brownfield and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Forbes is survived by her husband and two daughters---Carla Rae Goodpasture of Lubbock and Harlene Cornett of Brownfield.   She is also survived by one son-in-law---Royce Cornett and by five grandchildren---Latreca Baker, Joanie Gestes, Junior Cornett, Heidi Moore, and Lisa Briggs.

Mrs. Forbes is also survived by one brother---W.T. Briscoe of Seminole and one sister Betty Thompson of Erie, Pa., and she is also survived by one granddaughter-in-law; three grandsons-in-law; five great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters.
