Jackson Fails, 85, of Meadow, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, in
Lubbock. He was born July 15, 1922, in Fort Worth to
Cornelius Jefferson Fails and Padola (Wood) Fails and attended
school in New Moore. He was a life long resident of Terry
County. Mr. Fails married Margie Dell Rogers Jan. 2, 1942, in Tolleson, Ariz. He was a retired farmer since 1994. He was a member of the Golden Gloves Boxing Organization and was a deacon at the First Baptist Church, where he was a member. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 87th Seabee Battalion in Company D during WWII. Mr. Fails is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie Fails; one son--Chris and wife Deanna of Meadow and three daughters--Dianne Murphy and her husband Cecil of Lubbock; Patricia Brackeen and her husband James of Lubbock; Beverly Madnick and her husband Jan of Los Lunas, N.M. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at the Meadow Baptist Church with Bro. Ken McClung officiating. Interment was in the Resthaven Memorial Cemetery. Brownfield News |
