Services for H. S.
"Sonny" Dyer, 52, of Brownfield were at 2 p.m. Friday,
June 3, 1983, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the
Rev. Cletus Caswell, pastor of Union Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial
was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of
Brownfield Funeral Home
Dyer died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock of a
gunshot
wound sustained early Tuesday in Brownfield. Lubbock Justice of the
Peace Bill
Ross was awaiting Brownfield police reports before making a ruling on the death.
Dyer was born in Snyder and moved to Brownfield in 1948. He married
Carol
Harper Sept 8, 1955. He was a ginner for 31 years before purchasing
By-Lo
Wrecking.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons: Danny Ray and Gaylon Shelby, both of
Brownfield; a daughter: Mrs. Darwin (Debbra Gail) Sizemore of Brownfield;
3 brothers: Roy Allen of North Carolina, James of Brownfield and Charles Ray
of Sundown; 3 sisters: Mrs. Foy (Lena Mae) Gunter, Mrs. Joyce Robertson and
Mrs. Frances Hansard, all of Brownfield; and 6 grandchildren.
