Maria DeLaLuz Duran

Services for Maria DeLaLuz Duran, 73, of Brownfield were held Friday, July 21,
in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Domingo Ibarra and Rev. Steve Carter
officiating. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Duran died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Brownfield. She
was born
May 31, 1933, in Mexico City, DF, Mexico and was married to Celso Duran on
June 14, 1958 in Mexico City. She moved to Brownfield in 1962.
She was a high school graduate and attended college, receiving an Associate
Degree
in Business for Mexico. She was a member of the Ropesville Spanish First Baptist
Church.
She is survived by her husband; one son---Celso, Jr. of Brownfield and four
daughters---Sally Rodriguez and Sylvia Casanova, both of Brownfield and Pat
Perez
and Mary Lou Perez, both of Lubbock. She is also survived by
six sisters---Juana
Quesda, Teresa Laustida, Isabel Vasquez, Phyllis Vasquez, Lourdes Vasquez and
Marina Diaz, all of Mexico City.
She is also survived by her mother---Maria S. Vasquez of Mexico City and by
19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by one son,
Mario Duran in 1964 and two brothers, Candido and Felipe Vasquez.
