Services for Gertrude Duncan, 99, of Brownfield were held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Meadow First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Burial followed in Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Gertrude passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Brownfield. She was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Paris, TX,  to Robert Arthur and Eddith Drennon. She moved to Dickens County in 1922 with her family and then to Terry County in 1926.

She married Ervin J. Duncan, Jan. 4, 1925, in Afton. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1989.   She moved to Brownfield in 1995.   She was a member of Meadow First United Methodist Church.  

Gertrude is also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two sons, Elvice Duncan and his wife Laverne of Brownfield and Marion Duncan of Sundown; two daughters, Wilmeth Duncan of Brownfield and Clara Coalson and her husband James of Reedsburg, Wis.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola Robinson of Levelland; two brothers, Robert Drennon of Midland and Paul Drennon of Hemphill.

Pallbearers will be Terry Duncan, Shelby Duncan, Walter Murphree, Tracy Welch, Matt Caswell and Mike Beasley.    Online condolences may be made at www.BrownfieldFuneralHome.com.
