Houston Cummings, Sr.

Services for Houston Cummings, Sr., 92, were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005,
at Greater Hope Baptist Church with Elder Donnie Scott officiating.
The
services were under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.
Mr. Cummings died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at his home. He was
born
April 30, 1913, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Eugene and Maude Cummings.
He was employed at the Brownfield Farmers Co-op in the maintenance
department prior to his retirement in 1973.
He is survived by three sons: Willie Foster and Houston Cummings, Jr.,
both
of Brownfield and George Foster of Gatesville, and four daughters: Virginia
Brown, Bertha Davis and Vietha Finninen, all of Brownfield, and Maudie
Jeffery of Louisiana. He is also survived by one brother: J.
R., of Melvin, Ark;
one sister: Roberta Cummings, of Greenville, and by 29 grandchildren, 25 great-
grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death
by two brothers and three daughters.
