78, of Brownfield passed away Friday, January 15, 2010, at his home.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, at Immanuel Baptist
Church with Rev. Jon Patrick and Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Jerry was born February 19, 1931, in Refugio, Texas, to G.W. and Zelda Cox. He attended schools in Littlefield and married Billie Jean Fair on October 9, 1955, in Littlefield. They moved to Brownfield together where he drove a truck hauling produce for the City Fruit Stand which they owned and operated for over 40 years. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, George Cox and his sister, Pat Price. Jerry is survived by his wife, Billie Cox; 3 daughters, Brenda Brown and her husband Dwayne, Donna Tucker and her husband Ray and Teresa Carr and her husband Charlie all of Brownfield; 8 grandchildren, Lan and Justin Moody, Chris, Cody and Kelly Tucker and Jessica, Colton and Katie Jo Carr; 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Sammy Cox and his wife Dean of Brownfield and his sister, Peggy Holly and her husband Larry of Edgewood. Memorial Donations may be made to NurseCare Hospice of Lubbock and Immanuel Baptist Church. The family received visitors at the Brownfield Funeral Home Sunday, January 17.
