84, of Brownfield died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at her home in
Brownfield. Rosaries were prayed Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10, at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial was in the Brownfield Cemetery. Mrs. Contreras was born on Sept. 10, 1923, in Roby to George and Carmen Sanchez. She attended schools in Hamlin. On May 29, 1939, she married Antonio Contreras in Hamlin. She moved to Brownfield in 1950. Mrs. Contreras is survived by five sons--Jesus, Carlos, Juan, Victor and Mario, all of Brownfield and by five daughters--Ramona Contreras, Anita Rios, Maria Rodriguez, Stella Contreras and Betty Contreras, all of Brownfield. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio; two sons, Domingo and Alfonso; one daughter, Juanita; two brothers and three sisters. Brownfield News |
