Obituary for Pate F. Collier

Pate F. Collier, 93, of Brownfield passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009, in Brownfield. Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Interment followed at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Pate was born on August 25, 1916, in Junction, to Allen and Carrie Collier. He moved to Brownfield as a child where he graduated from high school. In 1941, he joined the United States Army serving in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Pate then married Oneida Proctor on Oct. 5, 1946 in Brownfield. She preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Lance Collyn Criswell in 1980. He was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ.

Pate is survived by his son, Coleman Collier and wife Cheryl of Krugerville; his daughter, Claudette Schultz of Brownfield; three grandchildren, Darrick Toon, Camron D. Collier and Cody Lee Collier and three great grandchildren, Hart Daniel Collier, Cerin Lynne Collier and Payton Ray Collier.
