Funeral services for Mildred Coburn, 87, of Lubbock, will be at 1
p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with
Rev. Van Webb and Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. Burial will follow
in Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., today, September 12th, at Resthaven
Funeral Home. Mildred passed away Saturday, September 9th, 2006.
She was born January 11, 1919, in Springtown to Joseph and Dora Lee (Lynch) Tucker and grew up in the Chillicothe area as one of nine kids. She married Andrew Travis Coburn on October 5, 1940, in Quanah and they moved to the Lubbock area in 1945, where Mildred helped raise her family. Her husband, A. T., preceded her in death in September of 1961. She attended the School of Vocational Nursing in Lubbock and was employed at Methodist Hospital until the early 1980's. Mildred was very involved with the Nazarene Church in Brownfield and then with Grace Church of the Nazarene in Lubbock. She enjoyed being a part of the church's activities. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Arnold and her husband John, of Sun City, Calif.; grandsons, Drew Arnold and his wife Lorraine of San Diego, Calif. and Travis Arnold and his wife Susan of Temecula, Calif.; great-grandkids, Ashlyn, Lynsie, Marissa, and Tyler; niece, Delma Bloxom of Slaton; longtime friend, Gertrude Crocker of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a daughter, Janice Kaye on April 8, 1961. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to
