Cleveland, 91, of Brownfield passed away Friday, January 23, 2009,
in Brownfield. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday,
January 26, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Memorial services
will follow at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy
Land officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Onie was born on October 17, 1917, in Merkel to W.A. and Effie Tittle. She moved to Brownfield with her parents in 1924 and attended schools in Gomez and Brownfield, where she graduated high school. She attended Hardin-Simmons University and she earned a Bachelor's Degree. Onie taught school in Monahans and Brownfield for 21 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brownfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lola Mae Lowrimore; and brother, Alfred Tittle Sr. Onie is survived by her nephew, Alfred Tittle, Jr. and wife Connie of Lubbock; niece, Billie Dannheim of Dallas; four great-nephews, Todd Tittle and wife Tanya of Seminole, Tim Tittle and wife Betty of Wolfforth, Mike Apperson and wife Tonia of Murphy, and Mark Apperson of Dallas; four great-great nephews; two great-great-great nieces; and special friends, Eddie Sharp and Harry Stice. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Terry County Cemetery Association or The First Baptist Church Building Fund.
