Anna Katherine Chapman, 97, formerly of Brownfield passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Chaplains Bill McGraw and Elizabeth Abraham officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. 

Katherine was born on August 16, 1912, in Dallas County to John E. and Dora Pearl Gracey. Shortly after she was born her family moved to Harmony Community in Terry County. She attended public schools first in Brownfield then in Harmony but graduated from Brownfield High School. Katherine then attended Draughans Business College in Abilene.

She married Gurley Chapman in Brownfield on January 9, 1934. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2002. She was employed at the Clerks office in Brownfield prior to employment with McGowans Abstract Office where she worked for over 40 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brownfield. Katherine was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Marie Chapman in 1991; a grandson, Sean Eugenis in 1981; a sister, Miss Dutch Gracey in 1976; two brothers, Paul Gracey in 1976 and Rudy Gracey in 1983.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Nan Eugenis and husband Don of Anton; 2 grandsons, Eric and Aaron Eugenis; 3 great grandchildren; 6 nieces.
