Ellen Elizabeth "Beth" Chapman, formerly of Brownfield will be 11
a.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, at Brownfield First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Ruby Moultrie and Don McWhorter officiating. Burial
will be in Grassland Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield
Funeral Home. Beth will be in state for viewing at the funeral home from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. She died peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours of March 18, 2010. She was born February 11, 1927, on the family farm of Lovic and Bernice Sheperd in Garza County. She was raised in the Grassland Community. Beth graduated from McMurray College at the age of 19. She taught school in the public school system for 44 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Ferman "Granny" Chapman; her parents; her brother, John Shepherd; and her sister, Margie Conway. Beth is survived by her son, Greg Chapman; her daughter, Gail Moorhead; five grandchildren, Lauren Chapman, Luke Moorhead, Dru Chapman, Joshua Moorhead and Katie Moorhead; a sister, Jane Williams. The family wishes to thank the employees of Wedgewood South Assisted Living, the medical staff of Brad Snodgrass, M.D. and Interim Hospice for their loving care of our sister, mother and grandmother.
