Graveside Services for Alva Lee Chancellor, 81, of Brownfield will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Alva passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 in Lubbock.

She was born June 2, 1925 to Hubert and Hettie Runnels in Hollis, Oklahoma and moved to Brownfield in 1934. She then moved to Austin where she finished high school at the School for the Deaf.  She worked for Dr. Tradway and Dr. Daniels until she married.  She married James "Pete" Chancellor on June 16, 1944, in Seagraves.

She is preceded in death by a daughter; Mary Railey, a brother; Don Runnels, and a sister; Lamoyne Baker. She is survived by her husband, James "Pete" Chancellor of Brownfield, 3 Daughters; Melba Boen of Dunn, Texas, Sharon Cromer of Midland, and Lois Hook and her husband, Thomas of Brownfield, 2 Brothers; Burt Runnels and his wife, Kay of Snyder, Burl Runnels and his wife, Martha of Lubbock, 1 Sister; Joyce Felts and her husband A.J. of Lamesa, 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
